Colour, Embroidery, Kantha, pattern, Quilts, Sewing, Sewing machines, Stitches

Making quilts from recycled fabrics has been a passion for many years, something which grows ever more important to me, rather than fading.

Finding ways to express and display ideas, pattern and memory through textiles and stitching seems to be a universal pleasure for many people from all walks of life, and is something I love to share and teach.

A quilt maker is never finished – there are always more ideas in the pipeline ……

About the Artist

Rosi Thornton is a visual artist based in Tyne and Wear. Her interests combine pattern, print, colour, and cloth, which she uses creatively in textiles, quilts, printmaking, and handmade books.

She believes passionately in recycling, skill-sharing, and art within communities, and started the REJIG project as a way of drawing these related interests together into a creative whole.
