Rejig in Lockdown

Colour, Community, Friendship, Learning, pattern, Quilts, Recycling, Sessions, Sew Saturdays, Sewing, Sewing machines, South Park

Well, it’s April 2020 and here we are in lockdown with no opportunities, either during the last 5 weeks or the foreseeable future, to have our usual weekly Rejig sessions.

It has been really hard for everyone to adjust to the rapidly changing situation across the globe, and no matter where we live, it has made an impact on every aspect of our lives.

Along with many groups and community organisations, Rejig has had to adapt rapidly to find new ways that allow us to stay in touch and support each other, through hard times now and better days, as they come along. So now we have regular Rejig meet-ups, using zoom – something that anyone can take part in, given a smartphone, computer or tablet that offers access to the internet.

If you want to join in with our twice weekly zoom meet-ups, send your contact details to rejig@luckyfisharts.co.uk and we will be in touch.

We also have some Rejig Lockdown creative projects underway if you are able to take part. No competition or challenge involved, just something enjoyable and fun for when you have some time to sort out your fabric collection and other bits and pieces.

Details can be found on the next website post and on our Instagram @rosithornton or www.facebook.com/Rejig13 page

About the Artist

Rosi Thornton is a visual artist based in Tyne and Wear. Her interests combine pattern, print, colour, and cloth, which she uses creatively in textiles, quilts, printmaking, and handmade books.

She believes passionately in recycling, skill-sharing, and art within communities, and started the REJIG project as a way of drawing these related interests together into a creative whole.
