Rejig ‘Sew Saturday’ in the South Park

Friendship, Learning, pattern, Quilts, Recycling, Rejig Plus, Sew Saturdays, Sewing, Sewing machines, South Park, Stitches

There were lots of people about in the South Park today and we hosted a busy Rejig ‘Sew Saturday’ session with quite a few families coming in to try something new. We had some new starters trying out a sewing machine for the first time, along with lots of creative recycling, inventing and mending taking place with our regular attenders too. It was great to see everyone here in the park.

The monthly drop-in sessions are a great chance to try out some family sewing and making together and are open for everyone of all ages and abilities – call in and see us – it’s friendly and fun

The next Rejig free ‘Sew Saturday’ session will be on September 24th 1 – 4pm

About the Artist

Rosi Thornton is a visual artist based in Tyne and Wear. Her interests combine pattern, print, colour, and cloth, which she uses creatively in textiles, quilts, printmaking, and handmade books.

She believes passionately in recycling, skill-sharing, and art within communities, and started the REJIG project as a way of drawing these related interests together into a creative whole.
