March ‘Meet the Maker’ on Instagram

Sewing, Short

If you follow me on social media, you may have seen slightly more activity than usual recently! Throughout March I’ve been posting photographs and short explanations about myself and my way of working over on my Instagram.

I’ve been taking part in a daily challenge run by @joannehawker called ‘March Meet the Maker’. It’s a fantastic way of connecting with other artists and makers, as well as helping to find new sources of inspiration! There are so many additional hashtags to follow, and I’ve ended up finding absolutely loads of interesting new things.

If that’s piqued your interest, take a look at the project website (https://marchmeetthemaker.com), head on over to my page to see what I’ve been up to, or just browse the hashtag. Happy scrolling!

About the Artist

Rosi Thornton is a visual artist based in Tyne and Wear. Her interests combine pattern, print, colour, and cloth, which she uses creatively in textiles, quilts, printmaking, and handmade books.

She believes passionately in recycling, skill-sharing, and art within communities, and started the REJIG project as a way of drawing these related interests together into a creative whole.
