HURRAH!

After much hard work, and many printing, dyeing and sewing sessions later, my Textile Exhibition ‘Layers of Memory & Meaning’ is now up in the Greenfield Art Gallery, Newton Aycliffe and on show until Wednesday 29th June. The gallery is open late until 9pm 4 evenings a week and is easy to find if you follow the map and directions link shown below. I’m teaching a couple of Batik and Embellishment workshops to run alongside the exhibition on Monday 13th & Monday 20th June if anyone wants to have a try at some of the techniques I regularly use in my textile work.

About the Artist

Rosi Thornton is a visual artist based in Tyne and Wear. Her interests combine pattern, print, colour, and cloth, which she uses creatively in textiles, quilts, printmaking, and handmade books.

She believes passionately in recycling, skill-sharing, and art within communities, and started the REJIG project as a way of drawing these related interests together into a creative whole.
