Rejig Sessions at Oxfam

Colour, Dyeing, Dyes, Embroidery, Festival of Thrift, Friendship, Learning, Oxfam, pattern, Promotion, Recycling, Rejiggers, Rosettes, Sessions, Sewing, Sewing machines, Stitches

Oxfam Darlington now run a regular Wednesday evening sewing and recycling session, with support from REJIG. The evening is open to everybody, with the aim of producing saleable goods from unused donations of fabric and clothing. You’re also free to make your own projects, for a small donation to Oxfam funds.

These evenings grew out of the Festival of Thrift partnerships in the last couple of years. I’ve included some photos below of last year’s project, which involved decorating hats into delicious fruit and veg masterpieces.  We used felted and dyed blankets to create chillies, aubergines, and carrots, which brought the Festival’s  theme of “Growing” to life on the heads of Oxfam’s volunteers.

If you’d like to get involved with the regular recycling sessions, give Rachel or Sue a call on 01325 382415
